Who works here?

The year 5 class teacher is Miss Prior and our class teaching assistant is Mrs Attwood.

What is your classroom like?

Our classroom is a fun place to learn with lots of work from pupils up on our walls to celebrate all of our best work. We have many different displays up around the room showcasing this with our Maths, English and Topic walls which are continually updated with each learning focus. We also have a Dojo wall that shows how many points every individual pupil is on.

Learning in Year 5

We have lots of exciting topics we are looking at throughout year 5. We are starting off with celebration as our next theme for topic. We also have the learning focus of Advent coming up shortly in RE taught from the come and see programme. We have been studying Roald Dahl looking specifically at the story of The Twits. Not to mention looking at some of his other works when we went on our first trip to the library to have a Roald Dahl experience. In PE we will be looking at lots of different sporting activities.

Please see our current curriculum newsletter below.

What can the year 5 children do at home?

Year 5 pupils would hugely benefit from lots of support at home, specifically when it comes to; spellings, home reading books and any other homework that is sent home. We will always encourage any work the pupils may want to do at home that extends the learning from the classroom.
